What is Design Thinking?

What is Design Thinking?

So the answer to this question is not something I really have to recapitulate. So we are going to reference so existing sites (with attribution) to save you from having to Google it. Then I am going to put it context for a small fabrication shop.

So what is design thinking at a high level? Here is one sites answer... not far off...

"Design thinking is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test. Involving five phases—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test—it is most useful to tackle problems that are ill-defined or unknown."

In the next 5 posts I am going to present the workflow we use at the Asylum to implement this 5 stage process in fabrication projects of all sizes.

What questions do you have regarding design thinking? And what if any of these ideas are you using today?

Do you think that this kind of thinking would help you?

Until next time,

Have a wonderful night.
